Why Spiritual Protection Matters - Especially For Empaths.

Yesterday, a simple pair of lost sunglasses reminded me how important spiritual protection is for everyone – especially us empaths. I attended the local police station to hand in an expensive pair of prescription sunglasses we found on the side of a busy local road. As I stood in the foyer waiting to be seen, I became aware of the number of spiritual entities that were in the room.

I am not a visual person, so I don’t see them, but I sure can feel them when they move through my energy field. And let me tell you, that foyer was literally buzzing with them. The place really needs a good clean out!

As I was leaving, walking down the front ramp, I was very aware that some of them had followed me. I could still feel their energy interacting with mine. Happily, I was present to this and used my tools to clear my energy field and say a prayer for their swift passing over to the light.

So, these were not evil or dark spiritual entities at all. Just lost souls who had not passed into the light and some of whom probably did not even realise they were dead yet.

I assume that places like police stations, ambulance & fire stations are filled with souls who have attached themselves to police & emergency service officers attending scenes of tragic deaths and followed them there. Likewise other workplaces and environments where people interact with people vibrating at low-frequency can be areas that these energies and entities can congregate and transfer to us.

Souls who experience untimely deaths, and even those who have succumbed to a medical condition or disease earlier in life can hang around in the in-between dimension. Some hold a lot of anger at their untimely passing and some are confused about what is happening because one moment they were alive and the next they were dead. Many of these souls do not fully comprehend that they (their bodies) are actually dead. Others may even be afraid to pass into the light because of unfinished business or fear of retribution for negative deeds done during their lifetime.

Sometimes these confused souls hang around their place of death and sometimes they follow the light energy emanating from vibrant living humans – especially empathic ones. These souls can drop off in any location they go to or even hang around our auric energy for days, weeks, months, or even years. And they can also decide to stay at a location that person visits or follow others that person comes in contact with.

I have on occasion had souls follow me from Reiki Sessions where they came with the client and decided they liked my energy better. Or recognised that I could help them pass over to the light.

I don’t normally have random souls turn up at my house because I have spiritual protection in place and I don’t see myself as a ‘ghost whisperer’ but I can think of three interesting examples where this has happened:

Once an old guy in a bowler hat who chain-smoked cigarettes followed me home from a comedy event. I became aware of him through the auric chills and the smell of cigarette smoke that followed me around our house (we don’t smoke) and no-one else but me could smell it. He was harmless, wasn’t wanting to pass over, he’d simply seen and was intrigued by my energy so I sent him back to where he came from because it’s not ok to have some random passed over guy watching you from the seat in your bedroom….

Once a woman followed my husband home from the sports stadium where he was working. He was completely unaware of this and she dropped out of his energy field and hung around mine till I recognised she was there. She was just a lady who had recently died of illness and for some reason had missed the invitation to pass to the light.

And even more randomly, we once arranged through the internet for some house-sitters to come and pet sit our dogs while we went on holidays. These were lovely people but in the few days they were here before we left, the smell of cigarette smoke hung around my nose on every inbreath. They were both smokers so I initially ignored this but eventually noticed this still happened even when they were not around.

When I tapped into the spirit it was a middle-aged indigenous woman from out near Alice Springs. She told me she had been killed by her abusive partner in a domestic violence incident. She had attached herself to the man and had been following him for 18 months! The information she gave me aligned with the timeline of when these people had travelled through that area. The man was very empathic and interestingly had been a police officer before retiring. The woman had stopped following him and decided to hang around me. I connected to the Arch Angels, called in her own passed over family and she went with them to the light immediately. I was a wonderful experience to see that joyful re-union and to be of service to this lost soul who had been stuck here for so long.

The synchronicities of this are not lost on me either that this soul should come all the way to my place via 18 months of travelling Australia just so I could pass her over. We all are given lessons from which we can learn and grow.

I have also cleared houses where discarnate entities and even an old dog had followed highly empathic people home – either invited or uninvited and were creating havoc to the person’s usually calm and serene house.

It can be very hard for people to believe they are having this experience – especially in the ‘safety’ of their own homes and bedrooms. It defies the logical left-brain thinking to actually accept that the experience is real. The cognitive dissonance can be massive. But unfortunately even if you don’t believe, some of these experiences can be extremely disruptive, stealing our energy causing fatigue, insomnia, nightmares, fear and general anxiety, household disruption and feelings of things not being right.

There are many discarnate energies and entities that exist in the dimensions around us. Not all of them are human. Though many are harmless and just trying to attract our attention, not all of them are friendly. (A deeper dive into that for another day).

What is important to recognise is when we are being impacted by them, because ‘possession’ is a real thing and even more frequent is just having a disembodied spirit or two hanging around. Many of these are syphoning our energy – intentionally or unintentionally.

So what are some of the signs that we may be being impacted by the negative effects of these lost souls and other energies?

For me, the biggest tell is always the chills and goose bumps which usually occur on one side of my body, or a specific body part. Also, the cigarette smoke is a big one and I have even found that spirits that did not smoke will use this to get my attention. Feeling uncomfortable, anxious or having our fear-fight-flight mechanism activated for no reason. From time to time, its random thoughts that I know are not mine, high pitched ear ringing and very occasionally someone saying ‘hello’ when no-one is around me. Sometimes lights flutter and when I ignore these signs for long enough, things start falling off things benches and cupboards. I also note that one of my dogs can become wary around me and will tend to keep their distance where usually they are a bit like Velcro.

Every person is different in how they receive messages from the other realms. It is more about noticing, recognising and tuning in than anyone person being more spiritually attuned that another. Though you may not understand fully what is happening, you can still recognise it.

We have so many tools available to us when we remember to use them and not all are difficult or require any particular training or ritual. We live on a planet of free will – so it is our right to decide and tell these spirits what you do and do not want to interact with.

The biggest thing is INTENTION. What is your intention with regards to this issue? Do you want things hanging around you or in your space or not. If you don’t – then generally you just need to tell them. By firmly commanding it out loud.  Some might be a bit more persistent that others, but generally the most important aspect is your non-consent. The spoken word is so powerful which is also why prayer and mantras are so effective in spiritual work.

And remember that ambivalence or not making a decision/intention is actually agreement to receive whatever is given to you under universal law. So, if you don’t say no, then that is actually a yes.
